Manga Capsule 1.37 Update Released~

Recently I've been completely hooked on '凡人修仙' (Ren Xian Xian Xiu) — Han Li has already ascended to immortality, and I'm still reeling from it. But despite my obsession, I managed to ship an update anyway — this one focuses on the reading experience, addressing most of the accumulated issues and ideas in one go.

✦ Long Press to Zoom Images

Long press any image while reading to enter zoom mode. You can drag to inspect details, and two-finger tap to bring up the action menu (copy, translate, etc.).

Now it's finally much easier to read small text in scanned comics or appreciate the finer details of any panel.

✦ Auto-Trim White Borders

A new "Trim White Borders" feature has been added, available in the reader settings.

When enabled, it automatically detects and crops the white margins around page edges. This is especially effective for scanned manga — pages display larger, you flip fewer times, and the immersion is much stronger.

✦ AI HD Reconstruction Upgraded

Replaced the underlying engine from waifu2x to RealESRGAN, resulting in noticeably better image quality — sharper lines and more natural color transitions.

✦ Seamless PDF Webtoon Scrolling

PDF-format webtoons now support seamless scrolling. No more page-by-page transitions — just scroll continuously for an experience on par with regular webtoons.

✦ Two-Finger Pinch Zoom Optimization

Previously, pinch-to-zoom would sometimes jump erratically or cause black screen flickering. This has been thoroughly fixed — it's much smoother now, and accidental triggers of the long-press menu are prevented.

✦ Other Improvements & Bug Fixes

  • Opening the bookshelf now automatically scrolls back to where you last left off — no more manual searching
  • Fixed an issue where OPDS libraries with many books would fail to load completely
  • When the app moves to the background, it proactively clears the memory cache, reducing the chance of being force-killed by the system
  • Right-swipe to go back in the reader now has a transition animation, making exit feel less abrupt

Thanks to everyone who's been providing feedback — many of these optimizations came directly from your suggestions. Feel free to continue reporting issues through the app, or come find me on Discord to chat~
